Society for Health, Empowerment, Literacy and Rehabilitation (SHELTAR) was established in 1999 to serve the deprived community. SHELTAR International is an NGO providing services of health and education for the poor and needy in Pakistan. The major activities of SHELTAR include provision of health care through Medical Camps and Health Centers. In addition, education for children is provided through formal and informal schools. Vocational Centers provide Computer and Vocational Training for Youth, specially for women to economically empower them. SHELTAR’s principal objectives are to bring social and behavioral change in the system through mass awareness and community participation. SHELTAR aims to recognize the derogatory and forlorn health conditions, which have stigmatized our rural commune.
Our Mission is to bring virtual revolution by social progress through community involvement and provide basic health services, education and empowerment through vocational skills.
Our Vision is to alleviate poverty and ill health through communal well-being.
